Join Us for the LRA “Taste of Field Day” Event!

📡 Saturday, June 28, 2025
🕛 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM
📍 Richard Bong State Park, Shelter #1

Come experience the excitement of amateur radio at our Taste of Field Day, hosted by the Lakeshore Repeater Association (LRA)! Whether you’re a licensed ham, a curious newcomer, or just looking for a fun afternoon outdoors, there’s something for everyone.

🌟 What to Expect:

  • Emergency Field Day HF transmitters
  • “Big Gun” remote HF Radio stations
  • BYO POTA stations
  • “Foxhunt” transmitter hunt activities
  • Family-friendly fun – kids, non-hams, and Tech class operators welcome
  • Picnic food and refreshments (BYOB and bring your own chairs if desired)
  • Plenty of picnic tables and great company!

This is a free event and offers a shorter, more casual version of the ARRL Field Day—perfect for anyone curious about amateur radio without the overnight commitment. Extended operation into the evening (until 11:00 PM) is possible if there’s interest!
